LAHORE – A five-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Pathankot airbase attack left for New Delhi on Sunday, local media reported.
The team consisting of two officials from Islamabad, two officials from Lahore and one official from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi departed from the Wagah Border, official sources confirmed.
The team will talk to eyewitnesses and also interrogate Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Salwinder Singh, who is alleged to be involved in the incident. They will also examine ammunition used in the onslaught.
The visit of the Pathankot JIT comes just days before a possible meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington.
